P&C
Parents and Citizen’s Association (P&C)
Taverners Hill Parents and Citizens Association is the representative body for parents and other community associated with the school.
All families and friends of Taverners Hill are welcome to join the P&C and attend meetings. Membership of the P&C, required if you wish to vote on P&C motions, is by gold coin donation. New membership is welcome at any meeting throughout the year.
Taverners Hill Infants P&C meets each month at the school. Meetings commence at 7pm and at the beginning of each year a suitable day and dates are set by the members. Childminding is available for meetings by contacting the secretary.
P&C is an important part of our school community. P&C has input into school decision making and the establishment of school programs as well as social and fundraising events to support and enhance school programs. Regular fundraising events are a bi – annual Spring Fete, annual Auction Dinner, Mothers and Fathers Day stalls, bulb drive, Kindy parents first day morning tea, Welcome BBQ to meet our new families in February and an end of year BBQ celebration in December.
Our P&C consists of an annually elected executive committee comprising President, Vice President (General), Vice President (Events & Fundraising), Secretary and Treasurer. The P&C also has several subcommittees – Fundraising, Grounds, Uniform, Parental Education Resource (PERC), Fete, Bookclub and TIC Liaison.
At each meeting executive committee members and sub-committee coordinators give reports and the Principal informs and discusses future events, plans and programs for the school. Decisions are made about funding allocations and grant submissions.
Our P&C funds three specialist teachers in the school – Music, Spanish and Technology, supplements school maintenance and refurbishment and provides additional educational resources.
